I have four dollies that need to go to the hospital and I do not want to send them. There seem to be so any "nightmare" stories.

When Cynthia Diane and Skylar went last year it was great!; except for Cynthia coming back with a plastic zip-tie in her neck.

Abigale Marie has silver eye in her right eye, both of Sierra's eyelashes keep going back in the eye sockets, one of Marisol's eye lashes keeps going back in the eye socket, and one of Addys legs is real loose.

I know! I am going to have to trust them and send my lovelies in. I am just so aprehensive! Waaaaaa....

I wouldn't worry about the silver eye, and eyelashes issue. You just purchased Sierra in Nov, right? She out to be free of charge. I would call and talk to customer service first. Didn't your DH restring one of your girls a while ago? Do you think he would fix Addy's leg?

I am wanting some eyes replaced on a few of my girls too. I am not sure what I am going to do just yet, but I don't think any of my girls will be going to AGH. I may send in the spare AG body that I have to get a new Molly head for the grey eyes.

Your girls are so cute in their cheer uniforms Dionne! That is what my girls had on for Super Bowl Day, but HB was down. Are these girls #11? Their hair sure is pretty. Is it rewigged or did you curl it?

The dollie my DH re-srtung was Addy and the leg is loose again. We could not find the right kind of elastic and the leg has alway been kind of loose.

I wouldn't worry about the plastic ties any more--the word from AGPNY is that they stopped using them because nobody liked them! (Yay!)
And if your DH won't re-string Addy for you, I can do it if you like. Just PM me.
(That goes for anyone else with loose-limbed AG's!)

Good luck with your girls!

I would definitely call CS about the eyelash issue, esp. on Sierra. She's too new for that stuff to happen! Very likely, they will just send you a new one and a return label for the doll with the eyelash problem. Or, they'll offer to replace her head free of charge. That's what they did when Marlot got the blue stain on her ears.

As far as restringing, put hubby to work! Taffy's instructions are really easy to follow. My DH has restrung about half a dozen dolls now. You can get the washers & ferules at Depot, and grippers & elastic at Hancock Fabrics. The cost (including the grippers at $4.50 each-- get two!) for the first doll is around $3.50 per limb. From there, the price goes down to around $2, after you've covered the cost of the grippers.

Thank you ,but that is what I am afraid of...I do not want a different doll or head. I want my dollie fixed. If they want to do a new head or a swap; forget it. I already pull the lashes back out my self. They just do not always stay out.

I do thank you, though. DH has restrung Addy before, we just did not have the right elastic. Does anyone know where I can get it?

Thank you also Asian AG. I may PM you about your offer. I know I need to get this done for them. I just have such a hard time sending them away.

I was a total basket case when Cynthia was at the hospital last year. I am hopelessly in love with my dollies! [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

We found the elastic at Hancock Fabrics. If you don't have that store, I'd be glad to mail you some. It's 79 cents/yd. It's actually slightly larger than Taffy's instructions call for, and DH uses two ferules on each limb. (He operates under a "bigger is better, less it NOT more" philosophy.)
He even has this entire lecture on restuffing and proper filling of the bootie. It's hilarous! Maybe someday, I can be really sneaky and video tape it!

Just an idea about the eyelash problem, but you could try super glue. The same thing happened to my new agt in one of her eyes. I could have sent her back and gotten a new doll for free since it was a defect, but I had already named her and didn't really want to. So I just took some super glue on the end of a tooth pick and put it in between the eyelid and lashes, with the lashes out of course. (Then I laid her down for a few minutes just to make sure the glue dried all the way) It dried quickly and worked great, plus you can't even see the glue

Glue them. I had this problem and I just pulled them back out, then put some elmers glue at the base of the lash with a qtip.

Elmers is water soluble, so after it dries you just wipe any extra off the eye itself with a clean moist qtip. The glue inside the slit where the eyelash goes stays though and it SHOULD keep the lash in.

I recently tried to get a lash I did this to back out, and it wouldn't budge!

DO NOT USE SUPER GLUE! IT CAN MELT & CLOUD THE EYES!

Kim, you are very lucky it didn't mess the eyes up. Even the fumes risk messing eyes up.

As for restringing, Walmart has these thin red elastic bungee cords in automotive for $2 that is the EXACT size you need. There's enough in the pack to restring 4-5 dolls! It's what I used on my Gotz, worked great.
